Sometimes a work order shouldn’t exist — a duplicate, a no-show, or a mistake. Wenmar Pro gives you two ways to handle it: close as voided (which keeps the history and can be reopened) or permanently delete (which removes it for good).
💡 You’ll need
- Owner or manager access to void, reopen, or delete work orders
Closing a Work Order as Voided
Voiding is the safe way to remove a work order from your board. It keeps the history so you can reopen it later if you need to.
Step 1: Open the work order menu
On the work order, open the menu and choose Close as Voided.
Step 2: Pick a reason
Choose a reason from the list — Duplicate WO, Created in error, Customer no-show, Vehicle not dropped off, Test/training WO, or Other.
Step 3: Confirm
Click Close as Voided. The work order is marked Voided and removed from the board, but its history is preserved.
Reopening a Voided Work Order
If you voided a work order by mistake (or the customer comes back), you can reopen it. Open the work order menu and choose Reopen WO, then confirm. It moves back to in progress.
Permanently Deleting a Work Order
Permanent deletion removes the work order and everything attached to it — payments, services, line items, messages, and inspection reports. This cannot be undone, so it’s only available in specific cases.
Step 1: Open the work order menu
Choose Delete WO. This option only appears if the work order is eligible (for example, it has no finalized payments or activity).
Step 2: Enter a reason
Type a Reason for deletion (for example, “Created in error” or “GDPR request”). A reason is required.
Step 3: Confirm
Click Permanently Delete. Wenmar Pro schedules the deletion and keeps an audit record of it.
Finding Closed Work Orders
Voided, declined, and paid work orders are found under the History filter in the work orders list. They stay on the customer’s and vehicle’s records.
Tips
- Void instead of delete — Voiding keeps history and lets you reopen. Only delete when you’re sure.
- Deletion is permanent — There’s no trash or restore for permanently deleted work orders.
- Voiding a payment is different — Use Void payment on a specific payment to cancel it before it settles, not the whole work order.
