An API token is a password for software, not for people. You create one so another tool — like the wenmar command-line tool or a program written by your developer — can safely connect to your shop’s data in Wenmar Pro.
💡 You’ll need
- An owner account
- A connection to the internet
Creating a Token
Step 1: Open API Tokens
Go to Settings → Account → API Tokens.
Step 2: Name the token
Enter a name for whatever will use it — for example, CLI, Zapier, or Test. Keep it short (up to 50 characters). You can’t reuse a name in the same location.
Step 3: Create the token
Click Create Token. A green banner appears — Token created: [name] — with a Copy button.
The token is shown only once. Copy it immediately — you won’t see it again. There’s no way to look it up later, so treat it like a spare key: if you lose it, create a new one.
What the Token Does
- The token is scoped to the current location, so it can only reach that location’s data.
- Tokens don’t expire, so the Expires column shows Never.
- You can see each token’s Name, Created, Last Used, and Expires dates in the table.
Revoking a Token
To stop a token working, click the trash icon next to it. Wenmar Pro asks: Revoke the “NAME” token? This cannot be undone. Confirm, and the token stops working right away. Once revoked it can’t be brought back — create a new one instead.
Where the Token Gets Used
Give the token to your developer, or use it yourself with the wenmar command-line tool. See Connecting Other Software to Wenmar Pro for how to connect things.
