Reading the Open Work Report

See every work order still in progress at your shop, how long each has been open, and what it's worth, so you can spot orders that have stalled.

Contents

The Open Work report lists every work order still in progress — anything that hasn’t been closed out. It’s the fastest way to see what’s on your floor, what it’s worth, and which orders have stalled and need a nudge.

💡 You’ll need

  • Owner or manager access to reports

Opening the Report

Go to Reports → Operations → Open Work. The report starts on the current month.

Choosing a Date Range

Use the Range filter to pick This week, This month (default), Last month, This quarter, or Custom. Choosing Custom opens start and end date fields. You can also narrow the list by Writer (the advisor) or Tech (the technician).

Reading the Cards

Four cards across the top summarize the report:

  • Open Orders — how many work orders are still open
  • Est. Total Value — what they’re worth
  • Stuck (>7d) — orders with no update in over 7 days
  • Saved for Later — quotes parked for later, not yet active work

The Stuck Warning

If any order hasn’t been updated in over 7 days, an amber warning card lists the RO#, Customer, Vehicle, and Days Stuck. Click the RO# to open the work order and get it moving again.

The Open Work Table

The All Open Work table lists every open order by RO#, Status, Customer, Vehicle, Advisor, Est. Total, Age, and Last Update. Age is how long the order has been open; orders older than 7 days show in amber, and over 14 days in red. A By Status card breaks the totals down by stage.

Exporting

Click Export in the header to download the current results as a spreadsheet file, including any orders saved for later.
