The Accounting report is your money’s home base. It shows tax you’ve invoiced, payments by method, how old your unpaid invoices are, and which customers still owe you money.
💡 You’ll need
- Owner or manager access to reports
Opening the Report
Go to Reports → Financial → Accounting. The report starts on the current month.
Choosing a Date Range
Use the Range filter to pick This week, This month (default), Last month, This quarter, or Custom. Choosing Custom opens start and end date fields.
The Four Cards
Four cards summarize your money:
- Tax Summary — tax invoiced (accrual basis) for the period, listed per location with a Total. Tax accrual is when the work was invoiced, not when it was paid.
- Invoice Aging — unpaid invoices broken into Current, 31–60, 61–90, 91–120, and 120+ days, with a Total. It’s as of today.
- Payment Methods — money collected by each payment method for the period.
- Outstanding Balances — your biggest customer balances, listed from largest to smallest, with a Total. If you have more than the top balances shown, a View full AR Aging link takes you to the full aging report.
Exporting the Tax Summary
Click Export in the header to download the current tax summary as a CSV spreadsheet (one row per location), ready for bookkeeping or tax filing.
Tips
- Use the Tax Summary export at tax time — it’s the accrual-basis total your accountant needs.
- Check Outstanding Balances weekly — it surfaces the customers worth following up on.
- Want cash-in vs. cash-out for the period? — Reading the Financial Report shows revenue and payments collected. For who owes what by age, see Reading the AR Aging Report.
